BREATHLESS IV

Emily, after listening to Aria’s distressed message tried reaching her but anytime she called, it went straight to voice-mail. She had left lots of messages but still got no response from her. This got her worried.
She called Marjorie and Rhea to find out if they had heard from her but neither of them had. Concerned, Emily drove to Aria’s home.
 She rang the bell several times but no answer. Emily grew more anxious. She knew what Aria could do in a depressed state.
 She ran to the next house to fetch Paul. He forced the door open and Emily rushed in to find Aria lying unconscious on the bathroom floor with blood oozing from her wrist.
Amidst sobbing and shaky hands, she dialed 911. Within a few minutes, paramedics arrived at the house. They tried to stabilize Aria but it was too late. She had lost too much blood.
 Emily couldn’t believe her friend had finally succeeded in ending her own life. She called Marjorie and Rhea to pass on the news; they were devastated. How could their friend possibly do that?
Emily called Adrian and cried her heart out. He tried to console her but she just couldn’t stop blaming herself.
Adrian went off the phone and quickly drove over to Aria’s house. He found Emily with the girls. They went over as soon as they heard the news.
They were all sprawled on the floor crying their hearts out. They couldn’t believe it. They just couldn’t come to terms with it.
Aria could not be dead. No, this had to be a nightmare.
Adrian locked Emily’s car and drove her home in his jeep. He couldn’t allow her drive in that state.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      
On their drive home, Emily got hysterical.  She was shaking and screaming; ‘this is all Keith’s fault! I know it! She loved him too damn much and all he could do was ditch her when she needed him most. How could he be this cruel?!

 Adrian had to make a stop in order to cool her down. He hugged her, wiped away her tears and with soft kisses on her face, assured her that it will be well.

 When she calmed down, she looked straight into his eyes and asked, ‘will you ever do me like that?’ Looking right back at her he answered, ‘Hun, I love you too much to ever hurt you or put you in such a situation.’ With that, he gave her a deep kiss to assure her of his loyalty.

Quite assured, she relaxed in her seat; he started the car and home they went.
